MortgageWise is built so that very little about you reaches it at all. This page says exactly what is collected, why, and how to have it removed. The data controller is Codable Labs Ltd, Ireland.

The tools

Every calculator runs in your browser. The incomes, prices, dates and answers you type are never sent to this site’s servers, and no tool asks for your name. If you copy a share link, your inputs are encoded in the part of the address after the # sign, which browsers do not send to any server and which analytics never records.

Analytics

The site uses Plausible, a cookieless analytics service, to count page views and a small set of events such as “enquiry sent” and “tool result shown”. No personal data, no tool inputs and no URL fragments are recorded, and there are no custom events on the pages about mortgage arrears. No consent banner is needed because no cookies are set and no identifier is stored on your device.

The enquiry form

If you ask for quotes, the form collects your name, email address and phone number, how and when you want to be contacted, what you are doing (buying, selling, switching and so on), which professionals you want, one or two multiple-choice answers for each, your county and optionally your town, the kind of home, a price band (never an exact price), where you are in the process, a rough timeline, and a short note only if you write one (600 characters at most; the form asks you not to include your PPSN, bank details or an exact salary). Nothing from a calculator is collected by the form itself, with one exception you control: if you ask for a mortgage advisor’s call from the mortgage calculator, the figures on that statement (income counted, deposit, the loan and price the rules allow, the repayment, the rate and term, any Help to Buy or First Home Scheme amount, and the county) are shown to you on the form and sent with your enquiry only while you leave the tick on.

With your explicit consent, given separately for each professional, these details are stored with a reference number and passed to one firm for that profession. The firm contacts you directly. A mortgage advisor receives them, and the calculator figures if you chose to send them. We do not pass details to insurers at all. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. The consent wording is versioned and the version is stored with your enquiry.

To stop abuse, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile (which may set a short-lived token in your browser for that check) and we keep a one-way hash of your network address for 24 hours to cap the number of enquiries from one connection. The hash cannot be turned back into your address and is not shared.

The fixed-rate reminder

If you set a reminder, we keep your email address and one date, send a confirmation you must click, then two emails before that date, each with an unsubscribe link. The record is deleted a month after the date passes.

Retention and your rights

Enquiries are kept for twelve months and then deleted. You can ask for your enquiry to be deleted sooner, for a copy of what is held, or for a correction, by writing to privacy@mortgagewise.ie with your reference number. You can complain to the Data Protection Commission if you are unhappy with how your data has been handled.

Hosting

The site is served from Cloudflare’s network. Enquiries and reminders are stored in a database hosted by Supabase in the EU and emails go through Resend. These providers process data on Codable Labs Ltd’s instructions only.
